This is a location I return to many times each year to capture reflections of the evergreen forest lining the shore. It is especially magical during a winter snowstorm.

Winter Passage
Many of us become “artists” when we find a canopy of trees framing a road or foot path. This tunnel of trees has enchanted many over the years, no matter the season. I have to admit to having more than a normal number of images from this brief section of country road.

The Dock in the Cove
My plan on this visit was to photograph a sunrise on Crystal Lake in Gilmanton, NH. Before packing up to head home, I noticed a new dock in a cove on the other side of the road. The light was perfect and the waters calm. I feel this was my real reason to come out. I just was unaware at the time.
Saint Joseph’s Church
Saint Joseph’s Church in Laconia, NH is a magnificent stone structure that has stood idle for several years due to a restructuring and mergers of local parishes. Today it is the focal point of a fundraising effort to restore and save the church.
New Fallen Snow

‘til we Meet Again
In the stillness of the morning, the rowboat sat silently by the shore, its weathered hull bearing tales of countless adventures on the lake. The rope lay coiled like a sleeping serpent, waiting for the hand of a dreamer to take hold. Once the favored vessel of an old fisherman who cast his lines in the early mist, it now rests as a promise—a silent invitation for the next seeker of solace, adventure, or peace to untie its tether and glide into the serene embrace of the water.
Tranquil Meadow Pond
I give thanks that this beautifully serene body of water is not in my backyard. For if it were, I would be compelled to sit and stare at its natural beauty all day long.
Winter’s Reflection
A heavy, wet snow blanketed the landscape, clinging to every branch and surface as it fell gently in Gilmanton, NH. Academy Brook mirrored the serene scene, its still waters reflecting the snow-laden trees. Subtle signs of freezing began to blur the reflections, creating a dreamy, almost ethereal effect. To me, open water in winter always adds a touch of magic, transforming an already picturesque moment into something truly enchanting.
The Road Less Traveled
The snow-covered road, flanked by towering trees, seems to invite the viewer into a peaceful, untouched winter landscape. The fresh snow, undisturbed by footprints or tire marks, creates a sense of a path rarely followed, evoking the idea of choosing an uncharted journey. This serene scene reflects the beauty and stillness of taking the road less traveled, where each step offers the opportunity to explore the unknown in a tranquil, winter wonderland.
