Monet Reflections

from $39.00

I made a last-minute decision to head out to Shellcamp Pond in Gilmanton to catch the sunset. I knew there were high clouds, which often pick up the red and amber light at dusk. While I was looking for a good composition, I noticed reflections on the water, broken up by water lily leaves. The scene reminded me a bit of a Monet painting.

This image has an interesting effect on me. What initially drew me to it was the color in the reflections, highlighted by the low angle of the sun. But as I processed the image today, something changed. Up close, about 18 inches from the screen, the water lilies seem to be the main focus. Yet, when I step back about ten feet, the reflections take over, just as they did when I was there in person.

This print is available in Metal, Acrylic, Canvas or as an Archival Print.
