Backlit Sunflower
This striking sunflower against a black background highlights its vibrant yellow petals and detailed dark center. The strong contrast emphasizes the flower's natural beauty, radiance, and intricate texture, making it perfect for content related to nature, floral art, summer blooms, and the symbolic joy of sunflowers.
Intricacies of a Cornflower
Cornflowers are so symmetrical and stiff that they can give one the sense they are fake, paper flowers. We planted them one year on our deck garden and I was surprised by the number of colors in their blossom and how hardy they were. When I photographed this blossom I did not notice the "critter" hiding among the pedals.
Little Pink Dahlia
The dahlia has been one of my favorite flowers for decades. Their brilliant colors and mounds of blossoms captivate the eye. This specimen was one of the smallest dahlias in the flower bed. Its coloration was intense.
Iridescent Begonia
This begonia was photographed at a garden center where I found it completely out of place, several yards away from the begonia table. I loved the form and the color, and I love this image.
Giant Pink Dahlia
II came across the massive dahlia at the Fuller Gardens. It stood above the others in the bed. It’s blossom had to have measured eight to ten inches across. I had never seen a dahlia as large as this one and had to photograph it close up.
Iris Among the Weeds
Moments like this are why my camera is always within reach. At a family gathering by the river, I was manning the grill when a splash of purple caught my eye—two irises blooming among the riverbank weeds. Between flips, I grabbed my camera, used the river as a dreamy backdrop with a shallow depth of field, captured the shot, and went right back to grilling.
Simplicity of Asters
"Simplicity of Asters" showcases nature’s elegance through evolution. Their vibrant colors and nectar-rich blooms, perfected over millennia, attract pollinators, ensuring survival and resilience in nature's delicate balance.
