Phoebe
This image features a small phoebe perched on a branch, clutching a mosquito in its beak. The bird's feathers and sharp eyes are beautifully captured against a vibrant green background, highlighting nature's predator-prey relationship and the bird's hunting prowess.
Morning Fog
After spending hours on the marsh, I was ready to pack up for the day when, suddenly, this Snowy Egret landed in the freshwater pool before me. It moved gracefully into the warm glow of the late afternoon sun, its delicate lines and subtle colors brought to life by the perfect lighting. This moment was nature’s gift—pure elegance in a golden spotlight
Barred Owl #3
After being away for two weeks we came home to find a Barred Owl sleeping on our deck railing. For close to forty minutes it watched me walking around taking several photographs of it before it decided that was enough and flew off into the forest.
Pelican Pod
This is one of my favorite bird images. I had spent several days roaming the wildlife areas in central Florida capturing images of wetland birds and wildlife. My favorite image from the trip, this shot of a pod of pelicans, was taken in the middle of downtown Lakeland FL. Ironic.
Portrait of a Loon
An early morning visit to the shoreline of Canaan Street Lake brought a sense of peace and serenity until this common loon popped above the waters surface thirty feet in front of me.
Patience
In all my years photographing birds and wildlife, I have never been as close to a great blue heron as on this day at the Circle B-Bar Preserve in Florida. The herons and egret in this preserve had little fear of man which made it great for photography.
Tufted Titmouse on a Cold Morning
This image captures a delicate tufted titmouse perched on an icy branch, holding a seed in its beak. The muted, wintry backdrop enhances the bird's soft plumage and bright eye. This image is perfect for wildlife, birdwatching, and nature photography content.
